The Support Scheme for Renewable Heat (SSRH) was officially launched last week.
As previously indicated by SEAI, the initial launch of the SSRH supports the installation of commercial heat pumps.
In this initial phase, applicants can apply for funding of up to 30% for the installation of a heat pump system.
This differs significantly from the SSRH funding available for biomass boilers, whereby funding for biomass boilers will be drawn down on an ongoing basis, paid quarterly on an ongoing basis for 15 years.
The SSRH for biomass boilers, wood chip and wood pellet, is due to open for applications by the end of the year.
If you are interested in switching from oil or gas to biomass renewable heating, we can offer you a free no obligation survey and feasibility study.
The SSRH is a government backed scheme which pays institutions on an ongoing basis to operate high efficiency renewable energy biomass heating systems as opposed to climate destroying oil and gas systems.
